
Chris Woods is a legal strategist and transactional advisor with more than two decades of experience structuring commercial partnerships, licensing agreements, and complex multi-party transactions across the media, intellectual property, and entertainment industries. At Johnson Millennium, Chris focuses on building and negotiating strategic partnerships while advising leadership and portfolio companies on deal architecture, licensing frameworks, and long-term commercial agreements.
Chris works closely with founders, investors, and operating teams across the Johnson Millennium ecosystem to guide opportunities from initial structuring and negotiation through execution and long-term partnership management. His role ensures that strategic initiatives across the firm’s portfolio are supported by disciplined legal frameworks and commercially sound agreements.
Prior to joining Johnson Millennium, Chris served as President of Alignment Management Inc., operating across Los Angeles and Nashville, where he led multi-market operations and negotiated commercial agreements involving global brands, rights-holders, and talent organizations. His work centered on structuring sponsorships, licensing arrangements, and partnership frameworks within complex creative and entertainment environments, including commercial relationships and brand collaborations connected to organizations such as Puma, Adidas, the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), Swarovski, and Genesis, among others.
Earlier in his career, Chris served as Partner and Director of Legal & Business Affairs at B.O.E. Global / BlackOut Entertainment, overseeing legal and operational strategy for a global music production platform. Through that work he participated in the negotiation and management of commercial relationships connected to projects involving major recording artists including Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Maroon 5, Janet Jackson, Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Wale, and Wiz Khalifa, among others. His responsibilities included contract negotiation, intellectual property protection, vendor and facility structuring, and operational compliance.
Chris began his legal career as a Partner at Jens Hills Solicitors LLP in London, advising sports, media, and entertainment clients on commercial transactions, sponsorship compliance, intellectual property protection, and governance matters.
He is licensed through the Law Society of England & Wales and is a member of the New York State Bar, providing Johnson Millennium with international legal perspective across U.S. and global transaction environments.
