Dr. Bruce N. Walker is a technology researcher, professor, and innovation leader whose work sits at the intersection of human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and emerging interface technologies. At Johnson Millennium, Dr. Walker helps guide the firm’s technology strategy, research partnerships, and advanced platform development across the company’s expanding ecosystem of ventures.

Dr. Walker is a Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology in both the School of Psychology and the School of Interactive Computing. His research focuses on human-centered technology design, sonification and auditory displays, multimodal interfaces, and the broader field of human-computer interaction. His work explores how sound, perception, and cognitive science can be used to make complex data and advanced technologies more accessible and effective for real-world users.

He is the director of the Georgia Tech Sonification Lab, an interdisciplinary research group focused on the development of auditory and multimodal interfaces that transform complex information into meaningful sound and sensory feedback. Through this work, Dr. Walker has helped advance technologies that support accessibility, data interpretation, and interaction with increasingly complex digital systems.

Dr. Walker’s academic research has produced more than 250 scholarly publications across psychology, engineering, and computing, and his work has been applied across sectors including aerospace, transportation, government, and assistive technology. Over the course of his career he has collaborated with organizations ranging from federal research agencies to private technology companies, advising on the design and adoption of advanced systems and human-machine interfaces.

At Johnson Millennium, Dr. Walker works alongside leadership and portfolio companies to help translate emerging research into real-world technology platforms. His role includes guiding partnerships with universities and research institutions, advising founders on the development of data-driven products, and helping shape the technological foundations behind Johnson Millennium’s long-term innovation strategy.

Through this dual role bridging academia and venture development, Dr. Walker strengthens Johnson Millennium’s ability to connect frontier research, practical engineering, and commercial venture creation ensuring that the firm’s companies are informed by cutting-edge scientific insight while remaining grounded in real-world application.
