About

Professor, Jenkins School of Behavioral Sciences - Morgan State University

Dr. Michael Sinclair is a seasoned psychologist, academic leader, and advisor with over two decades of experience operating at the intersection of human behavior, systems design, and community impact. Prior to academia, he founded and led a successful private therapy practice on Park Avenue in New York City, working directly with individuals across a wide spectrum of behavioral and mental health needs.

He currently serves as an Associate Professor at Morgan State University, where he plays a leadership role in shaping academic direction, research priorities, and the development of future practitioners in the field.

Dr. Sinclair’s background spans clinical practice, institutional systems, and academic research. His experience includes work within correctional systems, school-based social services, and leadership roles such as directing Rutgers University’s Project SEARCH, where he coordinated reentry and aftercare programs for youth.

His work has focused on youth development, urban social systems, and community reintegration, with research and professional experience examining the long-term behavioral dynamics affecting underserved populations and returning citizens. Across both academic and real-world environments, Dr. Sinclair has explored how behavioral, educational, and institutional systems shape long-term human outcomes in underserved and high-friction communities. Earlier in his academic career, Dr. Sinclair was recognized as a Paige E. Cook Scholar at Columbia University for his contributions to the field of social work and human development.

At Johnson Millennium, Dr. Sinclair has played a foundational role in the development of the FRII platform, contributing to the behavioral and human-centered frameworks that underpin its approach. His perspective brings depth to how JM approaches mental health, behavioral intelligence, and the broader application of data-driven insights across real-world environments.

He contributes a rare combination of behavioral expertise, systems-level thinking, and academic leadership, helping ensure that JM’s innovations are not only technologically advanced, but grounded in how people actually think, behave, and interact within complex environments.

Dr. Sinclair holds a Master of Science from Columbia University and completed his doctoral studies at Norfolk State University, with his academic and professional work consistently centered on advancing human well-being and social impact at scale.
